Super Saturday Count Down is ON!

It's almost here, the day that we have all been waiting for...Super Saturday!!!

So here are a few last minute reminders of what is going on.
The fun starts at 9:00am at the church, if you signed up for the advent you are going to want to be there as early as possible as it is an all day project. The cupcake class is from 10:00 to 11:00, we don't want you to miss out so please be there on time. Also lunch will be from about 12:00 until 1:00, even if you didn't sign up for a project we would love to have you join us for lunch.
If you signed up for the advent calendar or the hanging magnet board you need to bring either a paper cutter or a pair of scissors. Please be sure to have your items labeled so you won't lose them. As always we will have lots of paper and paint but if you know that you want something specific please feel free to bring those along as well. And finally if you signed up to make a tutu and want to embellish it with ribbons and all the prettiness please make sure to bring some change to buy those items.
Our committee has been hard at work and we can't wait to share this day with you!

A New Advent Option

Here is another option for the already fantastic advent calendar. Instead of saying 'Tis the season for family' it says 'Tis the season for Christ'. It really is such a beautiful piece. If this is the option that you choose (because unfortunately you can still only do one) the photos are available at the book store. You will need 2 packages. There are several different packages to choose from just make sure that you choose one with no borders. Also remember that the squares are 3x3 inches.

Also all orders and money for Super Saturday is due by Friday!! We would love to have you come and join us so please have your orders in by then.

Order forms and money can be dropped off at Cara H.'s house or join us for playgroup at the church on Wednesday at 10:00.

Super Saturday

Hurray, hurray it's finally here! Super Saturday will be held on November 6th from 9-2 at the church. The deadline for signing up is October 1st. Even if you don't feel like making any of the items offered this year, we would love to have you come. We will be serving a yummy lunch that you are welcome to join us in and also we will be setting up an area if you would like to bring a project from home that you want to work on. If you are unable to attend that day but would still like to participate please find someone to pick up your products for you, unfortunately our committee can no longer be responsible to store or tend to items that are not picked up the day of Super Saturday. And now on to the show....

Advent Calendar

$15, Limit 1 per person
For this project you will need about 30 photos. At Wal-mart you can print 2 photos on a 4x6, this makes it easier to cut down and cheaper as well. All other supplies are provided but feel free to bring paper if there is something specific that you want. The background takes 6 12x12 peices of paper and the little squares are 3x3. Due to the time consuming nature of the project there is a limit of one per person. Although you will have time to do some of the other projects if you would like. Also you can save some time by sorting your pictures in the order that you would like to use them in. Please don't cut the photos in advance as the squares may vary slightly. Also if you have your own paper cutter you may want to bring it along.

Small - $3 Medium - $5 Large - $7 Extra Large - $10.50

Back by popular demand we have the tutu's again this year. We have a wide variety of colors to choose from, make sure to include the sizes and what colors you would like for each on the back of your order forms please. The colors that we have available are: white, ivory, baby maze, yellow, peach, old gold, orange, red, wine, fushia, shocking pink, mauve, pink, light pink, lavender, purple, light blue, turquoise, smoke blue, royal blue, mint, green apple, old willow, emerald, hunter, chocolate and black. Whew! To see all these colors in person makes sure to check out our display table at church on Sunday. The price for the tutu includes the tule and the elastic band for the waist line. There will be an additional minimal cost if you would like to add ribbon or embelishments, please be prepared to purchase those items that day if you would like to add them.
Tutu Dresses
Small - $3.50 Medium - $5.50

A close cousin to the tutu, these tutu dresses are super cute and just as easy to make. They are only available in small and medium and like the tutu's embleshments are extra. So please come prepared if you would like to add them. Also please clearly indicate on the back of your order form the size and corrisponding colors that you would like to use. The body of the dress is actually a headband and are available in pink and white.

12x12 Magnetic Frame

This frame is designed to hold 12x12 scrapbooking pages with magnets, though the metal is quite nice and could easily be used as a message board etc. All supplies for this project will be provided, if there is a specific color that you want to paint your frame please feel free to bring it.

Hanging Magnet Board

The size of this project is approx 11-1/2" x 17-1/2". All supplies will be provided but as always if you have a specific style or color scheme in mind feel free to bring your own paper and ribbon. You would need 2 peices of 12x12 scrapbooking paper and 3 to 3-1/2 feet of a wider rope or ribbon to hang the project from and about 15 inches of ribbon for the middle.
'Grandma's Story'
This project is a cute little booklet for grandma's to fill out with all the fun information about themselves, growing up and dating etc. It is filled with questions and then the space to write in the answers. A great way to take family history one step further. All the supplies are provided, though grandma and her answers are not included :) If you would like a specific name on the front cover please clearly indicate it on the back of your order form.

'Hands' Soap Dispenser
First one is free, each additional one is $2

This project is personalized with either a family or person's name so please be sure to include the name(s) that you want on the back of your order form. All supplies are included and this project is very quick and easy.

Additionally we will be offering a cake decorating class. The class will be offered from 10 -11 and will focus on using icing to decorate. This class is going to be hands on and a lot of fun. Each person will be taking home 6 cupcakes. The cost of this class is $3.

Our committee has been hard at work and hope that you are able to join us for this exciting day. Please remember to invite your friends and neighbours, the more the merry! Also if you have any questions feel free to contact Cara H. or comment on this post and we will get back to you.

New Monthly Activities

Last fall we were given new direction for the 'enrichment' program, as well as a new name. All meetings are now to be called relief society meetings. We as a committee are so excited to what the changes are going to mean for us the sisters. The most notable change is going to be monthly activities, which I am told is somewhat similar to what the program used to be like, (I guess I am too young to have ever attended those.)

So it is with great pleasure that we announce that this month we will be meeting at the church on Thursday April 15th at 7:00pm, our evening will be focusing on gardening.

It is our hope that with a regular schedule and a variety of topics that we will be able to appeal to a wider group of sisters.

We would LOVE to see you there!
